This is Naomi's special binder with all her art work in it. Two of her favorite snow flakes are on display. The picture on the binder is her kindergarten school picture with the requested pig-tails. On top is the birthday crown her teacher gave her.
Naomi just loves to be called Silly and does lots of tricks like this to earn the pleasure. She and Vivian somehow pinned their tails exactly in the right place on every turn in spite of the blindfold. As long as they're having fun!
She asked for donuts instead of a birthday cake. That cut my birthday prep time by at least two hours! And it still looked festive!
Naomi is showing off all the loot she got with Grandma Smith's birthday check. This includes the outfit she picked out, the umbrella, and the tiny dog house with three tiny puppies inside. Thanks Grandma! Grandma and Grandpa Ericksen gave her a beautiful porcelain doll. Elora immediately asked for one of those for her birthday.
Nomi had also asked for an ice cream maker (the blue ball) and a Barbie pool. Dad threw in a new GI Jane doll which was a big hit. We used the ice cream maker in an object lesson for the next family home evening about the importance of both paying attention to the directions (General Conference was coming up) and then doing the work. It provided an hour of working together and the kids loved it. The ice cream was good, too!
After the party at home we had dinner at a Mongolian Grill restaurant with our friends, the Haskins.
Then we went glow bowling.
This picture illustrates Naomi's personality perfectly: quirky, tough, determined, mischievious, and lovable.
Daniel was not ashamed to bowl with a man-child lump perched on his back or of his unusual down-on-one-knee form.

Ohh it's already been another year. We were lucky enough to be at Naomi's party last year. These little girlies are getting so old. It really is going way too fast.
